Since our diy frames for canvas paintings thickness is 1.25 inch ,in order to wrap the canvas around the sides of the frame ,the rule of thumb for measuring canvas stretcher bars (or frames) is to minus 1.5 inches from each side of the canvas. This means that a canvas size is 36x40 inches and the actual canvas stretcher bars size is 33x37 inches.
How to assemble the canvas stretcher bars?
1. Tiled oil painting, face down, back up.
2.The wood strips are tiled on the back of the oil painting, and the wood strips are placed on the outside of the edge line of the oil painting. Please pay attention to the alignment. If it is difficult, you can mark it with a pen first.
