What exactly do I get in a Diamond Painting Kit from WoodArtSupply?

Each Diamond Painting Kit in our collection includes everything you need to start and complete your sparkling artwork: a pre-printed adhesive canvas with your chosen design, all the colorful resin diamonds you'll need (with extras in case any go missing!), a diamond pen tool, wax or gel pad to pick up the gems, a tray for organizing diamonds, tweezers, and storage bags or boxes. Some kits even have bonus tools, like magnetic pens or light pads, to make your crafting even more enjoyable. No need to buy anything else—just open, create, and enjoy!

Are these diamond painting kits beginner-friendly? What if I've never done this before?

Absolutely! Our Diamond Painting Kits are made for all skill levels, including total beginners. The color-coded canvas and symbols make it simple to match diamonds to the right spot, and our tools are easy to handle. Start with a smaller canvas or a design labeled “beginner”—they involve less complexity and are super satisfying to finish. Plus, you'll see your artwork come to life as you go, which is really motivating, even if it's your first time. We've included everything you need, and you can always reach out to our support or find tips in online diamond painting communities as you get started.

What’s the difference between round and square diamonds in these kits?

Great question! Round diamonds are slightly easier and faster to place, making them ideal for beginners—plus they give your finished piece a softer, sparkly look. Square diamonds fit tightly together for a more detailed, 'full mosaic' effect, and some crafters love the snap as each piece clicks into place. Our collection offers both shapes, so you can pick what matches your skill level and the look you want! Check the kit details to see which diamond shape is included.

How do I choose the right Diamond Painting Kit for me or as a gift?

Think about the design, canvas size, and your (or your recipient’s) experience level. For a relaxing first-time project, choose a beginner-friendly design with a smaller canvas and round drills. If you or your giftee are ready for a challenge, try an advanced artwork with a larger canvas, square drills, or full coverage for a stunning, detailed piece. Many shoppers also consider the subject—floral, animals, landscapes, or custom kits from photos! Don’t forget: Diamond painting makes a beautiful, personal gift and the finished art is perfect for home décor or framing.

Any tips for making my diamond painting experience easy and enjoyable?

Definitely! Organize your diamonds by color using the provided bags or boxes before you start. Work on your canvas in small sections—peeling back only part of the protective film so the rest stays clean and sticky. Try using different pen heads for speed or detail, and take breaks—this is all about relaxation! Once you finish, you can gently press your diamonds down with a rolling pin for extra stick, seal your artwork for extra durability, and frame it to show off your masterpiece. Any spare diamonds can be saved for future crafts or custom designs!

Choosing Your Kit

Select Design Complexity
• Beginner kits have larger drills and fewer colors.
• Advanced kits use smaller drills for greater detail.
Choose Canvas Size
• Small canvases (20×20 cm) take 2–4 hours.
• Jumbo canvases (40×60 cm and up) become immersive weekend projects.
Check Drill Shape
• Round drills are faster to place and forgiving of slight misalignments.
• Square drills create edge-to-edge coverage and sharper details.
Review Full vs. Partial Coverage
• Full-drill canvases are completely covered in gems.
• Partial-drill designs combine painted areas with gems for a mixed-media effect.
Inspect Quality and Extras
• Look for extra diamonds to cover loss or breakage.
• Kits with light pads or magnetic pens add convenience.

Bonus Tips

Organize by Color First
Pour each bag of drills into a labeled tray or muffin tin to speed up placement.
Work in Small Sections
Peel back a corner of the protective film at a time to keep the adhesive clean and tacky.
Use a Magnetic or Multi-Head Pen
Switch between single and multiple drill heads for large fills versus detailed areas.
Seal and Frame Properly
Apply a thin layer of clear sealer once complete and stretch the canvas evenly in a frame to avoid warps.
Keep Spare Storage
Store leftover diamonds by code in small resealable bags for future repairs.

Further Exploration

Combine diamond painting with embroidery or cross-stitch on the same canvas for a hybrid heirloom.
Experiment with glow-in-the-dark or UV-reactive drills for night-time sparkle.
Try 5D or 10D kits that vary the number of facets on each gem for ultra-sparkle.
Join online diamond-painting communities to swap tips, show off progress, and access free chart patterns.
Create custom kits by converting a favorite photograph into a numbered gem pattern.
