For flexible, impact-resistant results (like wearable art or robotics), look at polyurethane resin. For outdoor pieces, pick epoxy with UV resistance to keep colors vibrant.

Our casting resins are formulated for high clarity and minimal yellowing. Choose resins labeled 'crystal clear' or 'low yellowing' for the best long-term clarity, especially for projects displaying embedded flowers, pigments, or photos. For outdoor projects, opt for epoxy with UV-resistant additives to protect against sun exposure and keep your art clear and bright longer.

To achieve a bubble-free finish, use self-degassing formulas or pour your resin in a warm environment to encourage bubbles to rise and pop. For extra clarity, you can de-gas your resin in a vacuum or pressure chamber before pouring. Stir gently when mixing and pour slowly, as vigorous mixing or quick pours can trap air. Most of our resins are designed to level themselves for smooth, glass-like results.

Most medium- to high-viscosity casting resins at WoodArtSupply are formulated for thick, single pours—up to several inches deep—without needing multiple layers. Always check the recommended maximum pour depth on the product label to avoid overheating or improper curing. For very large pieces, or if your item is unusually thick, follow the manufacturer's guidance for best results.

Yes—once fully cured, our casting resins are highly durable, water- and chemical-resistant, and easy to clean, making them perfect for coasters, countertops, and even some outdoor décor. Just let your piece cure completely (as recommended), and avoid exposing it to high heat or harsh scrubbing to maintain the finish. For food-contact surfaces, check if the resin is rated as food safe.
