Details: Tried & True was first conceived around 1990 when a master cabinet maker in upstate New York became concerned over the amount of toxins that he was exposed to on a daily basis and thought, "How did people create pieces that last hundreds of years in a time when todays solvents and chemicals were unknown?" This question led to years of research centered around Shaker and early American woodworking and finishing, resulting in a line of products based on natural linseed (flax) oil and additives (beeswax, pine resin) that would have been available on an early American frontier with no modern processing.
