These rails can be added or removed to and from the bottom bunk over time and as needs change. The top bunk features built-in extra tall, 14” guard rails. With solid, knot-free New Zealand pine wood construction and a high 400-pound weight capacity per sleeping surface, the design is safe and secure for kids. The bed safely fits standard twin-size mattresses up to 8 inches thick. The bottom bunk sits only two inches off the floor, making it the perfect sleep option for little ones. The safety guard rails added to the bottom bunk are 13.25 inches tall and can be removed as your child grows. Please note that while add-on guardrails rails can help restrict access and give a sense of protection, they do not prevent all accidents or injuries. Only for use on bottom bunk/bed. Must be attached to the bedpost. Do NOT use an add-on guardrail in place of or to extend the height of the guardrails provided with your Max & Lily bunk or loft bed. Guardrails are for ages 36 months and older. The staircase with anti-slip steps is the perfect bed entry option for younger children.
