What fabrics work best with your tie dye kits?

Our tie dye kits are designed for natural fabrics like cotton, rayon, and linen, which really soak up the fiber-reactive dyes for bright, long-lasting colors. For the best results, we recommend pre-washing your fabric to remove any finishes before dyeing. Our step-by-step guide included in every kit gives extra tips on fabric prep and compatibility!

I’m new to tie dye—are these kits beginner-friendly?

Absolutely! Our tie dye kits are super beginner-friendly with easy-to-follow, illustrated instructions. Each kit comes with pre-measured dyes in squeeze bottles, protective gloves, aprons, and even pattern guides. Just follow the steps and you’ll create vibrant designs in no time, whether it’s your first project or you’re looking to upgrade your tie dye skills.

How many shirts or projects can I dye with one kit?

Each kit clearly shows the number of projects it covers on the packaging or product description. Sizes vary, so you can pick a small kit for a few t-shirts or a larger one for group events or parties. As a general rule, our standard kit dyes about 8 adult-size t-shirts, but keep in mind coverage depends on how much dye you use per project.

Are your tie dye kits safe for kids and mess-proof for home use?

Yes! Our kits include nitrile gloves, kid-sized aprons, and table covers to make tie dying safe and easy to clean up at home. The dyes are low-mess when used with the squeeze bottles provided, and our eco-friendly options are gentle on fabrics and hands. Adult supervision is recommended for younger children, but the kits are designed so the whole family can enjoy creative tie dyeing together.

How do I make sure my tie dye colors turn out bright and don’t fade?

For those bold, vibrant tie dye colors, make sure to follow the guide’s tips: pre-wash your fabrics, use the included soda ash solution before dyeing, and let your creations cure (set) for 6–8 hours or overnight. After curing, rinse with cold water and wash separately for the first few washes. Our kits use high-quality, fiber-reactive dyes for exceptional colorfastness, so your designs will stay vivid wash after wash!

Soak garments as directed for maximum colorfastness.
Apply Dye Strategically

Let Dyes Cure
Wrap dyed items in plastic and rest for 6–8 hours before rinsing.
Rinse & Wash Separately
Rinse under cold water until clear, then machine-wash alone for the first cycle.
