• HELPFUL TIPS: Holdfast will not hold if it is too loose in the dog hole or if your bench top is not thicker than 2.5 inches (6.4cm); If you extend the holdfast too high in an effort to hold something that is out of its working range, it will not be able to develop enough of a bind in the dog hole and will be loose; We suggest using a scrap of wood as a pad between the holdfast and the workpiece so the holdfast can be tapped hard without damaging your stock
