The Estes 1295 Mean Machine model-rocket-building kit encourages rocket enthusiasts with advanced building and finishing skills to dream big. Designed for adults and kids ages 10+ (supervision recommended for ages under 12), this rocket provides high-performance flights of up to 700 ft. when powered by Estes D and E model-rocket engines (sold separately). This 80-inch-tall model features an engine spacer, a unique twist-lock connector for easy transportation, and a colorful 24-inch preassembled parachute for a safe return to Earth. This rocket-building kit includes the reusable parts for launch, including a nose cone, a body tube, a recovery parachute, and design components.
Perfect for families, friends, hobbyists, or aspiring rocketeers, the 1295 Mean Machine rocket-building kit offers hands-on experience in engineering and aerospace. After an estimated assembly time of 3+ hours (not including glue- and paint-drying time), this rocket will be ready for proud display or launch prep.
To build and launch this rocket, you will need scissors, a pencil, a ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter’s glue, plastic cement, a hobby knife, masking tape, primer (white), paint (blue and white), clear coat (optional), an Estes Porta-Pad E Launch Pad, an Estes E Launch Controller, an Estes 3/16-inch “Maxi” Launch Rod, compatible Estes model-rocket engines, Starters, Recovery Wadding, and any extra materials listed in the directions (sold separately). Always follow the NAR (National Association of Rocketry) model-rocket safety code during operation.

The Mean Machine stands over a staggering 6 foot (2 m) tall, which can be a handful to transport to the launch site. The clever rocket designers at Estes recognized this problem and developed a unique, twist lock connector set that allows you to take your rocket apart in the middle for easy transport to and from the launch field. This legendary rocket is a Skill Level 2 kit, which can be assembled and painted in just about a day. The complete kit includes four matching body tubes, a molded plastic twist lock connector set, laser cut balsa fins, sleek molded plastic nose cone and a distinctive waterslide decal. The high performance rocket can be flown on our powerful E or D engines with the included engine spacer. When flown on our powerful E engine, the rocket can reach launch heights well over 900' (274 m) and is easily recovered by a colorful 24" (61 cm) pre-assembled parachute. This rocket kit is another of the favorite classics that no model rocket enthusiast should be without. With the twist connector system, transporting this high performance giant is super easy. As the name implies, the Mean Machine is a huge rocket with attitude and performance to match. Get yours today and fly it tomorrow. Requires more skill in building and painting.
