Details: This tool is sharpened with a with fingernail grind for increased flexibility allowing ‘pull’ cuts which avoid catching the lathe bed. The greater cutting area on the tip can be used for heavy profiling cuts as well as fine, delicate shearing cuts. Milled from solid round bar stock providing mass and stability. Made from high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. It will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. It comes with hard White Ash handle and brass ferrule. Long handle is are 14” long with tool being 9” in length. Overall length is 23”.
