The G0634X 12" 5 HP Planer / Jointer combines a powerful 5 HP motor with a V-helical cutterhead for unmatched finish and long-lasting cutting-edge durability compared to a machine with straight knives. No need to sharpen the blades every time they get dull or nicked. The 48 indexable carbide inserts can be rotated up to 3 times for a new sharp edge. The quick-release fence can be positioned at any angle between 45° and 90° as shown by the tilt scale. The fence has been end-mounted to save space so nothing is protruding from the back of the machine. Conversion from the jointer to the planer is easy. Just remove the quick-release fence and flip up the jointer tables. To use the jointer again, simply release and lower the tables, put the fence back on and you are ready to face or edge joint. The planer features cast-iron infeed and outfeed tables, two feed rollers, anti-kickback fingers and a depth of cut scale on the front.
