Details: Many tradesmen prefer a folding ruler that can be extended, fixed, and laid flat out to make a series of measurements without the need to lock out or secure a tape measure blade. For some uses, folding rules also have the advantage of being more accurate than steel tapes given their ability to absorb damage without compromise to the working edges of the ruler. They are also great for use in very wet environments where corrosion might affect the function or accuracy of a steel tape measure. Our folding rule is made of tough fiberglass-reinforced ABS plastic with reinforced rivets and stainless steel springs. The 9/16" wide rule is able to bend without breaking as wooden rules often will, giving you the ability to measure curved surfaces. The arms lock out smoothly and solidly at every 90-degree angle, and the waterproof rule can be easily wiped off and cleaned with a wet rag. Measurements are engraved and then printed in order to preserve legibility in harsh environments. The FR-72 rule is more compact than other wooden rules at 9" x 1.5" x .5" and features seamless internal hinges with no protruding edges to catch on miscellaneous items in your toolbox. Graduations on the top side feature 1/32" for the first 6 inches and 1/16th" for the remainder. Easy-read fractions appear throughout the ruler along with large inch markings for fast and simple reading. The bottom side gives inches as well as metric graduations.
