- Application of Mandrel: The 3-Step lathe buffing mandrel one end is machined to a #2 Morse Taper to fit in the head stock of your lathe, the other end is machined to accept the tail stock. The #2MT mandrel kit requires a lathe with a minimum of 1/2 HP.
