- DESIGNED FOR AIR DRY CLAY - We have developed a new waterproof and scratch resistant low-shine matte varnish, made specifically for air dry clay.
- WATERPROOF VARNISH - Create functional pottery from home such as plant pots that you can safely water. No kiln needed! Please note - although your air dry clay creations will withstand contact with water they will not be food safe or dishwasher safe.
- HOW TO USE? - Wait for your piece to dry completely for a minimum of 3 days. Apply two generous coats of Sculpd white acrylic base coat on the inside, outside and base of your creation followed by your desired Sculpd colours. Allow this to dry for a couple of hours. Apply 2 generous coats of our matte varnish on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to set completely overnight to ensure a waterproof finish.
- PAIR WITH SCULPD CLAY & PAINTS - Sculpd varnish works best with Sculpd air dry clay and our range of acrylic paint sets and pens. Apply a couple of generous coats, allow it to dry for a couple of hours, then apply the varnish for a beautiful matte finish.

It’s important your creation is bone dry before painting (very light in colour and hard to the touch). 2) Apply 2 generous coats of Sculpd acrylic base layer on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to dry for a couple of hours. 3) Apply 2 generous coats of Sculpd matte varnish on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to set completely overnight to ensure a waterproof finish. And that’s all there is to it!
